Pokémon that learn Light Screen and Reflect

Sometimes you want Reflect for a physical defence boost and sometimes you want Light Screen for a special defence boost. But what if you wanted both and didn’t have space for two Pokémon? Well, you could have the best of both worlds because there are 159 Pokémon (at the time of writing) that can learn both Light Screen and Reflect.

Known as “screeners”, these Pokémon offer great utility although some are better at pulling it off than others due to own defensive stats keeping them in battles for longer. Paired with the Light Clay item that extends the number of turns Reflect and/or Light Screen are active (from 5 to 8 turns), having one of these Pokémon in your team could help you win more games.

My personal favourite screeners are Grimmsnarl (with its Prankster ability meaning it gets both screens up first), Hatterene (decent defensive stats), and Lugia (amazing defensive stats).

I’ve also added an asterisk (*) to Pokémon that can also learn Aurora Veil which reduces the physical and special by 50% for 5 turns in hail/snow.
