The history of Blastoise in competitive Pokémon

Blastoise is my fave so it was nice to see False Swipe Gaming redo his video on its history in competitive Pokémon. The video covers every gen, in singles and doubles, so you get to see Blastoise in all its forms and glory.

It’s worth noting that Blastoise’s CV has been really strong in recent years:

• Regional champion (Diego Gutierrez in Santiago, 2022)
• World champion (Kosaku M. in London in the Juniors Division, 2022)
• Placed top 32 in Brisbane and Baltimore (2) in the 2027 season
• Placed top 32 in Indianapolis, New Orleans, and Worlds (shout out to Justin Tang) in the 2026 season

If this has piqued your interest into the blue Shellfish Pokémon and you’re looking for nicknames, I have a Blastoise nickname page you might enjoy.
